Before we head to Dingalan, here’s Part 1 of our trip: a relaxing scenic ride featuring iconic stops, roadside waterfalls, and hidden café gems. 🌄 Route: Baguio City → Kennon Road → Rosario, La Union 🍃 Bike: Honda ADV 160 🎯 Goal: Ride down to Rosario and wait for friends before the early morning leg to Dingalan, Aurora 🛑 Stops in this Episode: 🦁 Lion's Head, Kennon Road A 40-foot concrete landmark and one of Baguio's most photographed tourist spots. Built in the 1970s by the Lions Club of Baguio as a symbol of strength and welcome to travelers. Located along a scenic bend of Kennon Road—perfect for a quick stop and photo op! 💧 Bridal Veil Falls Named because the thin, white stream of water looks like a bride’s veil. Easily visible from the road and accessible for a quick refreshing stop. Popular among riders and travelers for its peaceful vibe and cool mist. 🍔 Rosario, La Union Known as the gateway to Baguio—Rosario is the first town in La Union when descending from Benguet. A convenient stop for fuel, food, and local eateries before heading further into Ilocos or Aurora. ☕ S.O.U.L. Café (Source of Unending Love) A cozy café known for its Cordilleran-themed interiors and highland coffee blends. A favorite hangout for riders, tourists, and locals. Located right along the highway—great spot for drinks and travel conversations. 🌙 A Slow Life Coffee A quiet, minimalist café that lives up to its name—perfect for winding down after a long ride. Surrounded by trees and fresh air, it's the best place to wait for sunset or nightfall. Great place to reflect on the journey and prep for the next day’s ride. 💡 Fun Facts about Kennon Road: Constructed in the early 1900s during the American era and completed in 1905. Originally called Benguet Road, later renamed after Col. Lyman Kennon. Built by more than 2,000 foreign workers from 36 different nationalities. Known for its hairpin curves, rocky cliffs, and scenic Bued River views. It’s still considered the shortest and steepest route to Baguio—though landslide-prone. This ride shows that it's not just about where you’re going—it’s about the stops, the stories, and the sights along the way. Stay tuned for Part 2, where we ride early morning to the stunning coastal views of Dingalan, Aurora.
