Dragons were among Morgoth's fiercest and most powerful creatures, slaying many Elves, Dwarves and Men. Glaurung was the first Dragon to be created and he led Morgoth's forces in the Battle of Sudden Flames and the Battle of Unnumbered Tears. His story overlaps with that of the children of Hurin called Turin and Niennor, and their faiths and deaths would be intertwined.
