Auction link: coming soon Basic information and history The 1964 BMC Cooper 970S is a homologation special designed for the up to one litre racing class within the regulations of the period. The model is based on the well-known Mini architecture with an A-series four-stroke engine in a short-stroke 970cc configuration for quick throttle response and high revs. The 970S was produced for a limited period in the mid-1960s and is appreciated in historic racing for its balance, low weight and ability to exploit the chassis' fine basic characteristics. This example is built as a competition car for historic racing according to APP K and is stated by the seller to be a fast and well-known car in the RHK 1000 cup. The odometer cannot be stated as there is no odometer, but the engine was renovated in 2016 and the car has only been driven in one race since then. For a pure competition car, the odometer reading is normally not representative of actual mileage and should be assessed accordingly. The interior has been stripped of original components to meet the requirements of APP K , and the car is optimized for track driving.
