Nevada is home to more Ghost Towns than any other state, with over 600 to choose from. And what exactly is a ghost town? A city that once had an active community that has since been abandoned by all ... or nearly all of its residents. Goldfield - one of the most famous places in the American west, and is a living ghost town with approximately 220 residents left ( according to a local) This is where our outdoor adventure will be today. Discover a true historic gem hiding in plain sight, in the remote western desert of Nevada. It's located literally off the side of the highway. And after exploring here, we feel it's one of the most important ghost town/mining camps we ever been too... We thank you for choosing to watch our video on YouTube @offroad801 In this episode, I will give you a brief history of the place and show you around some of the streets that I thought were most interesting. Revealing some unique remnants left behind which includes some structures, machinery, mining equipment and even some railroad history. Goldfield was once home to thousands of people - outlaws, miners and everything in between. It's a real life treasure in itself - to say the least. Where riches were once found and large traces remain, of a lost and forgotten chapter of American history and sometimes SECRET history. There is still gold exploration in and around Goldfield, Nevada going on today. This was "THE PLACE" everyone wanted to be in the American west during the turn of the 20th century. Unlike other places in a rowdy, rural West - Goldfield was a place of society and order, ushering in a new, welcomed era by all who lived here. Now we want to thank each and every one of you for tuning into @offroad801 on YouTube.
