How I record music in my car

At the beginning of the video I said I’d explain “how, where and when I usually record” but I never actually got around to the “when” so I’ll just do that here. Basically, I much prefer to record during the colder months of the year. It’s a bit of a nightmare having to sit in a car and record for hours in the heat of summer. You get sweaty and uncomfortable very quickly when parked in direct sunlight. Trust me when I say that stiff fingers are much more preferable to cooking inside of a metal box. Though I didn’t mention it in the video because it doesn’t really have anything to do with the car, I also thought I should add something here about how I mix my songs. Very simply, I mix using the same pair of cheapish Bluetooth headphones that I use everyday to listen to music. I say this because if you ask a search engine if it’s a good idea to mix using headphones or not, you’ll be met with Reddit threads full of professional studio engineers telling you why you absolutely need to invested in studio monitors. Well, I’m here to tell you that that’s just not true. No, mixing on headphones is not ideal but if you’re like me and that’s all you can afford then go for it. Don’t let a guy on a forum thread with forty years of experience and monitors that cost more than your car stop you from getting your foot in the door. Make do with what you can afford. There’s no shame in it.
