There are seasons in life when it feels like nothing is moving, but everything is being decided. Moments when prayers have been prayed, faith has been exercised, obedience has been given- yet heaven seems silent. And if we’re honest, most of us don’t struggle with faith in God… we struggle with faith in God’s timing. We don’t mind trusting God— we just want Him to hurry. But Scripture reveals a truth we don’t often celebrate: God is never late— but He is almost never early. Waiting is the space where frustration grows, where impatience whispers, where fear tries to convince us that delay means denial. Yet the Bible does not describe waiting as weakness. It describes waiting as wisdom. Isaiah does not say, “Those who rush ahead shall renew their strength.” He says, “Those who wait for the Lord—who expect, look for, and hope in Him—shall renew their strength…” Which tells us something profound: God does His deepest work in us before He ever does His greatest work through us. Waiting is not punishment. Waiting is not God ignoring you. Waiting is not wasted time. Waiting is where God develops vision, strengthens character, and prepares you for heights you could not survive if you arrived too soon. The Bible says those who wait on the Lord will mount up with wings as eagles. Not chickens. Not sparrows. Not birds that panic at the wind. Eagles. Because eagles understand something others don’t: The wind that frightens lesser birds is the very thing God uses to lift His chosen higher. So today, we are not talking about how to escape waiting. We are talking about how to walk in wisdom while waiting— how God develops you before He delivers you, and how to rise instead of resist when the wind begins to blow.
