He became well-known after appearing at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj in 2025. Background: Singh is a native of Haryana. He was a top student in school, scoring 93% in his 10th and 92.4% in his 12th exams. He reportedly secured an AIR of 731 in JEE 2008. He worked in a prestigious field in Canada, earning a lucrative salary. He left his high-paying career in Canada to choose spirituality. Spiritual journey: He began to read extensively, attend lectures and seminars, and practice meditation and yoga. He left science for spirituality after struggling with questions that money couldn't answer. He found solace and purpose away from the materialistic world. Known for: His famous line, "I have finally understood the truth... Keep following the path of knowledge, and where else will you go, you will come back to your roots". His transformation from an engineer to a spiritual seeker. According to him, he left a high-paying career in Canada, to choose the path of spirituality, finding solace and purpose away from the materialistic world. His presence at the Kumbh Mela has caused many discussions; even his father, Karan Grewal, is hoping that his son returns but does not wish his son to come back to his place of residence in Canada. He showed exceptional academic performance from a young age. Karan Grewal, Abhay's father, who is a practicing lawyer in the Jhajjar Court, is proud of his son's laurels. After schooling in the locality, Abhay prepared for the IIT entrance exam in Delhi and he eventually found a place for himself in IIT Mumbai. At IIT Mumbai, he graduated with a degree in aerospace engineering. His academic journey did not stop there, he went on to pursue a Masters in Designing. Abhay’s educational accomplishments opened doors to successful job opportunities in top companies in Delhi and Canada. Despite earning a handsome salary of approximately Rs 3 lakh per month in Canda, where Abhay struggled with depression and a sense of unfulfillment. This internal conflict took him to a search for more meaningful purpose in life free from corporate pressures and expectations. He started his journey of self-discovery and spent his winters traveling to places like Manali, Shimla, and Haridwar. During these journeys, he adopted spiritual practices and gradually moved away from his old life. It was a conscious decision on his part to become a monk as he wanted to live a simple life with inner peace. It was then that Abhay decided to become a saint, joining the Shri Panchdashnam Juna Akhara, one of the oldest and most respected monastic orders in India. His presence at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj has made him a topic of discussion among devotees and visitors alike. The revelation of his prestigious educational background has added to the intrigue surrounding him, earning him the moniker "IITian Baba." Now, Singh’s father, Karan Grewal, wants him to return home.
