John Callow is an author, historian and trade unionist. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Suffolk and has written widely on Early Modern witchcraft, Manx history, politics and popular culture. His books include Witchcraft & Magic in Sixteenth- and Seventeenth-Century Europe (Palgrave Macmillan; co-authored with Professor Geoffrey Scarre); James II: King in Exile (The History Press); Embracing the Darkness: A Cultural History of Witchcraft (I.B.
