I hope this video helps you know why bats 'see' with their ears. Why: Since bats are nocturnal animals, they spend most of their active hours in the dark. A bat’s ears tend to be more useful than its eyes in the dark. Bats use something called as ‘echolocation’ to find out where objects are around them. Echolocation is finding the location of objects by listening to sound reflected from them. This is how it works: A bat sends out very high pitched sound wave also called as an ultrasound which humans cannot hear. These sound waves get reflected from the surface of objects around the bat. The bat hears these reflected sounds called echoes and instantly knows exactly where things are as it can interpret the reflected sounds and make an image of its surroundings
