11 July 2021 marks the 26th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. On 5 August 2021, the award-winning film "QUO VADIS, AIDA?", nominated for the Oscar® 2021, will be released in German cinemas. "QUO VADIS, AIDA?" is a very powerful and moving film that traces the desperation of the people of Srebrenica in July 1995, when Bosnian Serb troops captured the town and murdered over 8,000 Bosniak men and boys. The greatest crime against humanity in Europe since the end of the Second World War took place under the eyes of the world public - an appalling failure of European politics and the United Nations. Before the screening, four members of the Bundestag will discuss with the film director the background of the film and the lessons of Srebrenica for German, European and international politics.
