xAPI: Beyond Statements

While statements are critical in xAPI, an LRS will actually store more than statements. Per the xAPI specification, a Learning Record Store provides endpoints to save and retrieve "documents," which could be JSON files, raw text, or other data, about three aspects of an experience: • State (where the experience stands for a given learner), • Agent Profile (information about the learner, perhaps shared across experiences), and • Activity Profile (information about the experience, not specific to a learner). These are powerful tools, particularly for cross-platform or cross-environment applications and for applications which don't have their own databases. In this session Matt and Peter will talk about the capabilities and uses of xAPI documents along with a bit of how-to, exampling them with specific case studies.
