CUNY Asian American Student Colloquium

In recent years, increasing number of Asian Americans are relying on the City University of New York to achieve their higher educational aspirations. As the City University of New York is transforming itself into a world class institution of access and excellence, the size and diversity of the Asian American population, language, culture and academic preparation justify a comprehensive and in-depth study of their needs and how the University can better serve them effectively. Approximately 30 faculty, student, and administrators attended the colloquium. Thanks to the support of Dr. Otis Hill, CUNY Vice Chancellor of Student Development and Enrollment Management, Hon. Sayu Bhojwani, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, Prof. Betty Lee Sung, Chairperson of the Asian American / Asian Research Institute, and other faculty members of the City University of New York, the Asian American / Asian Research Institute is embarking on a major study of Asian American / Asian students within the system.
