In this oil painting tutorial, I'll show you how I prepare my artist's panel for painting. The panels used in this video are referred to as hardboard (aka MDF or Masonite) which have been cut to size for & prepared for painting. Since making this video, I've changed the sealing product I use, from Galkyd to Polyurethane mixed with Gamsol (2/3 Urethane : 1/3 Gamsol). I hope you find it helpful! Original paintings & fine art prints available in my shop at https://www.StudioCC.com Materials: 4 x 8' sheet of hardboard cut to size → Lowe's, Home Depot or local lumber yard Galkyd ~ Please note: Since making this video, I've changed the sealing product I use, from Galkyd to Polyurethane mixed with Gamsol (2/3 Urethane : 1/3 Gamsol).
