We took the new iPhone 16 Pro Max on a short hike with us. I know the video specs did not change from 15 to 16 but still wanted to see how it performed on a misty day. We have a lot of these type of conditions in Bay Area and I usually do not carry a big camera with me on these short hikes. I gotta say Apple Log is incredible! Even in relatively dark scenes image looks a lot better than I expected. I will definitely be using my iPhone more and more for YouTube videos. Especially for high DoF scenes it is just perfect. I used the BlackMagic Camera app which is another amazing tool. Used a Sandisk 2TB SSD and selected ProRes LT. There is still plenty of data in ProRes LT and I think it is going to be what I use moving forward. It is so much fun to color grade Apple Log. I can match this easily with my Canon R6 log footage. I can't imagine how good it would be if they produced a larger sensor camera. Anyways, just wanted to shoot/edit quickly and share some footage.
