It's after midnight, and normally I like to stay in the safety of Faction bases at night, however I decided I wanted to go out. I turned on my night vision as I went out the south gate of STC Malachite. I went to the crossroads and continued south, getting off the road and hugging the bluff line, for the protection it offered on my left flank. It was a clear night, with a light fog in the distance but good visibility up close. I soon got to the clearing, where there was an elevated double pipeline, that I used a fallen tree to access it, by getting on the top of. I continued south until I could go no further. I was overlooking the railyard and to the west was a Ward campfire, with several soldiers gathered around it. I went back to the northern end of the double pipeline, where it was damaged and disconnected. I turned off my night vision and looked at the chemical anomalies below me. I suddenly heard voices and I looked around trying to find them. I ran down to the spot where the tree trunk rested against the pipeline and then saw headlamps, moving to the west along the bluff wall. I ran down to join them. To my surprise, it was a three-man squad of Ward soldiers wearing Exoskeletons, which is a very rare sight. I decided to follow them, and we got passed by three I.P.S.F. soldiers going the direction we had come from. The four of us crossed the road and then headed to the northwest, going to the top of the large hillside, that had the train tunnel deep inside of it. The weather was still good and as we got to the top of the rise, I turned my night vision back on. As we descended on the other side, my HUD went from blue to red and we were attacked by Snorks. The Snorks were jumping around, and the Exo Ward were fighting in every direction. There were too many Snorks and I was blasting them as they surrounded me. Then from behind us, back on the hilltop, we came under fire by Bandits, and one of the Ward fell. I switched to my scoped rifle and had a quick shootout with the Bandits, and afterwards I ran up the hill finding three bodies to loot. I returned to where the Ward had fallen and found out it was Captain Zanin. I looked and saw the two surviving Exo Ward were far ahead continuing their path to the northwest. I decided not to keep following them and go down the slope to the north entrance of the train tunnel. When I had just been looting the dead, my HUD showed more bodies than I found, so I knew they must have been below me in the train tunnel. I entered the train tunnel, hoping I had already fought all the Snorks, that might have been down here. Going down the long tunnel, to the center spot that was a platform and a long hallway to a larger room with equipment, I found several dead Snork, a dead Loner and a dead Ward in their basic armor. I looted them all and went back outside. I met some Loners who had run up to skin the Snorks. I went over the top of the hill by the train tunnel entrance and went towards STC Malachite. I threw a few bolts at the nearby Clicker anomaly field and was almost heading towards the gate, when I heard gunfire by one of the I.P.S.F. soldiers I had passed. I turned to assist him and found myself fighting another pack of Snorks. After this second wave, I returned to STC Malachite and dropped off my loot. By now it was morning. I saw the Medic and after attending my wounds, I went back outside and walked south the exact way I had just done that night. This time when I got to the elevated double pipelines, I did not get on the top of them but kept going straight to the Ward campfire. As soon as I got there, they broke camp and were going on a patrol across the train tracks further to the south. I followed them and we kept going deeper into the woods and farther south than I had ever explored before. I checked my PDA Map, and we were headed to the area outside the Duga. We kept getting deeper in the woods and we were soon shot at by Bandits, in a brief firefight. Shortly after this, as we approached a road, a herd of Boars attacked us, and I was shooting them with my revolver. One Ward was knocked down but he got back up. We did not lose any men. Game Note:
