But due to more number of calculations , it leads to development of REVISED SIMPLEX METHOD. There are two standard form for the REVISED SIMPLEX METHOD. STANDARD FORM I (we introduce slack variables in constraints.) STANDARD FORM II (we introduce surplus and artificial variables in constraints) The standard form-II is used when artificial variables are required to obtain the initial basis matrix as an identity matrix. In Phase 1, an initial basic feasible solution is found by driving all artificial variable to zero.While in Phase 2 we start with initial basic feasible solution obtained in phase 1 .
