🌍 Exploring Amsterdam, Netherlands 🇳🇱 | Bikes, Canals, Dutch Culture & Family Travel Amsterdam had been on our list for a long time — and when we finally arrived in the Netherlands, it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we stepped into the city, we realized that Amsterdam isn’t just beautiful — it has a rhythm and culture that feels completely unique. Bikes everywhere, canals weaving through centuries-old architecture, cozy cafés, museums, and a relaxed lifestyle that makes the city feel incredibly livable. During our time in Amsterdam, we explored the city the most Dutch way possible… by bike. 🚲 With thousands of bikes filling the streets, Amsterdam is truly one of the most bike-friendly cities in the world. Riding through neighborhoods, canals, and historic streets gave us the perfect introduction to the city and helped us understand why cycling is such an important part of daily Dutch life. But the experience went far beyond biking. This trip also became one of the most meaningful stops in our entire European road trip because we were able to slow down and truly experience the culture of the Netherlands. 🇳🇱 What We Experienced in Amsterdam This vlog captures some unforgettable moments exploring one of Europe’s most fascinating cities: • Riding bikes through the historic streets of Amsterdam • Exploring the famous Amsterdam canals and beautiful old neighborhoods • Visiting Vondelpark, the heart of the city where locals gather • Seeing the historic Anne Frank House area • Exploring the incredible Van Gogh Museum and learning about the life of Vincent van Gogh • Walking through charming Dutch streets filled with cafés, bookstores, and shops • Trying local food and enjoying cozy restaurants along the canals • Meeting friends who moved from the United States to start a new life in the Netherlands • Father-son bike adventures across the city and even taking a ferry across the harbor • Visiting the A'DAM Lookout swing, one of the most thrilling viewpoints in Amsterdam Amsterdam surprised us in so many ways. The city is vibrant, welcoming, incredibly walkable, and full of culture and history. What stood out the most was how balanced life feels here — people biking everywhere, enjoying parks, spending time outdoors, and embracing a slower pace of life. It’s easy to see why so many people fall in love with the Netherlands. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Traveling the World as a Family If you're new here, we’re Keith and Celena, a husband and wife who have been married for over 20 years and are raising five amazing kids. With our oldest daughter heading off to college soon, we made a life-changing decision: Pause our normal life, pack our bags, and travel the world together as a family. Our mission is simple: • Experience different cultures • Teach our kids about the world • Try new foods • Learn history where it actually happened • Meet amazing people along the way • Create memories that will last a lifetime We’re traveling to 30 countries in 6 months, and this European road trip has been one of the most incredible parts of the journey.
