Ever wondered why you and your neighbor get contrasting news? Samrat Phadnis is working as a journalist and as an editor for Sakal's flagship newspaper edition, Pune. He is also resident editor for Sakal Media Group's digital publications. He has joined journalism in June 1993 as a student reporter in Sakal and had a chance to work with Lokmat and The Times of India. He has got many rewards for his dedication in work as a journalist and participated in many decorated conferences around the globe. He had attended London G20 summit and had been to USA, Israel and Malaysia for professional media assignments. He believes that, the role of media is to inform, to educate and to entertain its audience. He is going to share his ideas regarding the issue of how media influences the crowd. Samrat Phadnis is currently the editor of Daily Sakal, Pune Edition. Previously he was Resident Editor of Times of India, Kolhapur Edition. He has total experience of 25+ years of Journalism. He had worked with all major newspaper brands such as Lokmat, Sakal & Times Group. He is known for his excellent knowledge of Digital and Multimedia Journalism. He has got many awards such as WAN-IFRA award. His talk will let student understand changing scenario of Media and how common man is getting influenced by the same. He will throw light on various aspects of social media journalism, digital journalism and aspects like fake news.
