Yet Another Bad Reading by Ehrman: Jesus' Baptism

On pages 40–41 of Jesus, Interrupted, Bart Ehrman asks: “Where was Jesus the day after he was baptized?” He claims the Synoptics put him immediately in the wilderness, while John has him the next day gathering disciples. But here’s the problem: John never even narrates the baptism. Instead, John the Baptist gives testimony about what he had already seen: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove… I have seen and borne witness that this is the Son of God.” That’s not a new baptism scene, but John just giving testimony of something he saw before.
