In this video, we are messing about with the Exway Hydro wheels to see if they actually do anything in terms of water riding. Look below for more information: You can find these wheels here on Exway's website use Code RBEM for $15 off: https://shrsl.com/3tq4o The setup I've got here is an Exway Flex ER, with a 13:36 stock gearing setup. This setup is fine for 85mm wheels, but as you'll hear in the video, when switching over to the larger 100mm wheels, the acceleration and braking greatly suffer. I recommend moving up to a 40T pulley on the wheel side if you are able to get one. You'll likely need to change belts as well, but considering how commonly the belts break on a belt drive, you should probably have extras anyway. The Hydro wheels definitely seem to provide much greater safety when riding in wet conditions, by alleviating a lot of the hydroplane action that you might see with regular flat urethane. HOWEVER, you should probably never ride in the rain, because it's just a bad idea to soak your electronics with disgusting road water. If you're ever caught out in wet conditions though, these wheels can definitely get you home a bit safer than plain urethane. Leave any questions in the comments below!
