John Bela is an urbanist, landscape architect and public space designer, whose work brings together art, science and environmental design. John has initiated countless successful projects which radically redefine the surrounding space. As a pioneer of user-generated urbanism, John laid the foundation for the international Park(ing) Day, where parking spaces are temporarily turned into public spots and parks. In 2014 John teamed up with the internationally recognised Danish architecture bureau Gehl Studio and set up a local office in San Francisco.
