Visiting the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve 2022

It’s wildflower season in California, and one of the best places to see them is the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. In this video, I give you a tour of the Poppy Reserve, so you’ll know what to expect when you visit. The Poppy Reserve is located about 70 miles north of Los Angeles, just outside of Lancaster, so it’s a perfect day trip. The trails are well groomed and have gentle slopes, so they are accessible to everyone. Because California is in a drought, brown, dried grass surrounds the poppies. But as you get higher on the hills, there’s less evidence of the drought. More than just poppies, there are a lot of different types of wildflowers, so the fields are colorful wildflower displays.
