In our new interview series from the New York Film Festival, Chloë Sevigny talks about her earliest memory of seeing a film in theaters and what she looks for when watching movies today. NYFF Soft Focus is created by Jeff Reichert & Farihah Zaman. The interviews were shot on a 1986 Jupiter-9 85mm vintage Russian lens, known for its swirly bokeh, which gives the videos their distinctive look. Chloë Sevigny is at the festival with the short film Kitty. Her highly anticipated directorial debut is an adaptation of a Paul Bowles short story, a hypnotic and ethereal fairy tale for today about a young girl’s feline reveries. -- The 17-day New York Film Festival highlights the best in world cinema, featuring top films from celebrated filmmakers as well as fresh new talent.
