SynergyNet for Early Years

SynergyNet for Early Years is a project built using SynergySpace 3, a multi-touch framework developed as part of the SynergyNet project. The objective of this project is to adapt the SynergyNet software platform to support use by early years students. This video demonstrates the following features of the framework: Simplified personal menus for students The ability to capture and store multiple sounds from system microphones Personal content galleries which students can import familiar media into The ability to allow students to capture a screenshot of their work at any time The feedback system which allows students and teachers to attach their thoughts and ratings in a number of different forms to media in the software environment which is then stored The ability to import media from newly added removable media (e.g. usb sticks) The video also demonstrates an example application which can utilise some of the features developed in this project. SynergyNet for Early Years is not intended to replace or provide an alternative to current classroom activities but to augment tasks carried out in learning environments by both early years students and teachers.
