This video presents Part 1 of the WCML diversions through Ayrshire in February 2016 due to the closure of the WCML at Lamington, since reopened. It was captured mainly at New Cumnock for a change of scenery and from several different vantage points. It was pretty cold and windy but the shelters came in handy! The coal loading point entrance can be seen to the right hand side of the track when looking northwards with the attractive backdrop of the South Ayrshire hills and a light covering of snow. This station has a wonderful array of upper quadrant semaphore signals and an operating signalbox, as have several of the stations on this stretch of line. Several of the drivers gave us tones and the 4th clip of 221102 at about 4.15 features an Ayrshire driver, David Singleton, with whom we had a chat as his train was held for over 40 mins due to late running 4s04. I have titled all clips instead of listing all the moves in tabular form. Unfortunately my editing programme stopped working some 5 mins short of completion and I'm trying to work out what has caused this problem. Therefore I've decided to upload what has been produced and edited so far and will do another upload (Part 2) covering the last 5 mins or so, in due course. My thanks go to Chris and Eddie for their company and humour during our time here, also Barry for his updates! I hope you enjoy viewing this video and please feel free to like and comment
