This condition can lead to significant complications if not addressed promptly. Types of Hip Dislocation :- 1) Posterior Dislocation: Commonality: The most frequent type, often resulting from high-energy trauma, such as motor vehicle accidents or falls. Mechanism: Typically occurs when the knee strikes the dashboard in a car accident, causing the femur to be pushed backwards. Presentation: The affected limb is often flexed, adducted, and internally rotated. 2) Anterior Dislocation: Rarity: Less common than posterior dislocations, often caused by forced abduction and external rotation. Mechanism: Can occur in sports injuries or falls. Presentation: The limb may be extended and externally rotated Symptoms : Intense pain in the hip region. Inability to move the leg or bear weight. Visible deformity of the hip joint. Changes in limb position, as described above. Diagnosis : Clinical Examination: Assessing limb position and mobility. Imaging: X-rays or CT scans confirm dislocation and assess for associated fractures. Treatment : Emergency Management: Immediate reduction of the dislocation is crucial. This can be done through closed reduction techniques. Post-reduction Care: Patients may require immobilization and physical therapy to regain strength and mobility. Surgery: In cases of recurrent dislocations or significant associated injuries, surgical intervention may be necessary. #medicalanimations #fmge #fmgevideos #rapidrevisionfmge #fmge2024 #mbbslectures #nationalexitexam #nationalexittest #neetpg #usmlepreparation #usmlestep1 #fmge #usmle #drgbhanuprakash #medicalstudents #medicalstudent #medicalcollege #neetpg2025 #usmleprep #usmlevideos #usmlestep1videos #medicalstudents #neetpgvideos #usmlestep2videos
