For Hardware Transcoding in Plex If you have a QNAP NAS and have purchased a 3rd party GPU such as GeForce GTX 1050Ti to use for Hardware Transcoding, you may have noticed that it's not using the new GPU. For any Intel-based NAS with its own onboard GPU, PLEX will always use the first GPU it sees and that will always be the onboard GPU. In this video, Craig goes through the steps to ensure Plex uses the new GPU and not the standard onboard GPU. Please note you will require the following in order for this to work. 1. Plex Pass (Not supplied by QNAP) 2. Intel-based NAS with its own onboard GPU. You can easily check this by seeing if your NAS has an external HDMI port on the rear of the NAS. 3. Supported GPU installed in the QNAP NAS. 0:08 - Introduction 1:00 - First steps 1:40 - Where to find the default Admin password 2:03 - Enable SSH 3:05 - SSH to the NAS 4:25 - Finding your Plex folder by command line 5:22 - Finding the file that you will need to edit 6:42 - Editing Preferences.XML 8:54 - Stop / Start Plex after editing the Preferences file 12:29 - Pause here if you want to see full written instructions on how to do this Follow us on twitter - / qnap_nas Like us on Facebook - / qnapuk Follow us on Instagram - / qnap_uk Visit our website – https://www.qnap.com/en-uk Technical Support (UK) - https://service.qnap.com/en-uk Product Compatibility - https://www.qnap.com/en-uk/compatibil...
