Current Abscess Completion: 22/24 Rules: 1. Hard difficulty, New Game. 2. No fusion or using essences to alter the skillsets of demons. 3. The Nahobino may only acquire skills from Proto-fiend essences, and essences used for his resistances may only be Proto-Fiend Essences, purchasable from the Cadaver's Hollow, or be from recruitable demons at or below the Nahobino's level. 4. EXP gain is limited to forced battles, Main Quest completion, and abscesses, minimized as much as possible. Sidequests may be done under specific circumstances. 5. No Balms, Incenses, Sutras, Gospels, use of petrified demon statues, Omagatoki: Luck, or stat-boosting Miracles. Grimoires may only be used under specific circumstances. 6. The Demon Haunt may not be used for stat boosts or items. 7. No use of the Skill Manifestation miracle. 8. Guest demons may not be used when their level exceeds that of the Nahobino. 9. Usage of Taunt skills, barrier skills, and barrier items will be minimized, but may be allowed under specific circumstances. 10. No Knowledge of Tools, Dread, or Enhanced Summon. 11. No using Omagatoki: Strategize, Adversity, or Periapt skills that alter the press turn count. At level 48, Odin is a significant step up from Vasuki, as indicated by this being the longest single fight in the playthrough so far. Odin is a strange puzzle boss the likes of Trumpeter in Nocturne. On regular turns, Odin mainly uses Hades Blast, Attack, and occasionally Ziodyne, and will use Dekaja every couple turns if buffs are up. Hades Blast is extremely problematic in this fight, as it essentially requires us to have all 3 of our Phys-resisting demons in the party, Nahobino to resist Phys, and for him to use Miracle Water frequently. Anyone else is simply too weak to survive, maybe they can survive once while guarding, but Miracle Water won't be enough to heal them up to the point where they have enough HP to tank another one. Even then, Oni very well may die to Hades Blast plus Attack, or to a random Ziodyne, and, since this can easily snowball into a loss, I am using Revival Chant once again. I also put Tarunda on Nahobino, because we really can't rely on Oni's Fang Breaker here. Odin also has Dekaja, but this is really not that relevant because Inflaming Divinity grants 2 stages of buffs anyways and Odin's Dekaja usage has a cooldown. For some odd reason, Odin's Omagatoki Critical skill is Mabufudyne, even though he doesn't have any Ice potential. A notable quirk about Odin's AI in this fight is that, unlike in the Zeus and Odin fight in CoV, Odin in CoC only ever targets the lowest HP target with his single-target attacks. Exploiting this is the key to winning the fight. Every couple turns, Odin will use Charge or Concentrate with his second press turn. On turns after he uses Charge, he will use Gungnir, a piercing single-target Phys skill that is slightly stronger than Catastrophe, and, at this level, is guaranteed to kill whoever it targets. Due to this, it's best to summon a weak demon so that he doesn't kill any useful demons. You can use Oberon or Revival Beads to revive that demon again so they can be sacrificed again. Concentrate is much easier to handle, as Odin will use either Ziodyne or Thunder Reign after Concentrate turns, usually the former. Since it is purely random whether he uses Ziodyne or Thunder Reign, I made sure to summon a whole party of Null Elec demons just in case, but even that doesn't mean that Nahobino will be protected, but luckily we have Enduring Soul and the Whittled Goat as safety nets. While this fight is easy on paper, in practice, it is inevitable that some things will go wrong. While 11 MP Miracle Water is great, Nahobino still has to be the attacker here, still using Impaler's Glory Thalassic Calamities like we've been doing the past couple videos. Since High Restore is not available in CoC, let alone the combination of it and OmniSucc, Nahobino will inevitably have to restore his MP, which may require sacrificing damage, healing, or even buffs. As you can see here, things got out of hand a couple times in this fight, but I was able to recover regardless thanks to Revival Chant and good old fashioned luck.
