Hidden in the desert on four acres of private, gated land sits one of the most incredible abandoned mansions I've ever explored. Comprised of 2 stories, this modern mega mansion features six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a home theater, and an eight-car garage with an elevator. But that's not all, outside, there is a heated pool with a swim-up bar, spa, and even full-sized tennis and basketball courts. It was all designed as the ultimate statement of wealth, leisure, and ambition - every detail meant to impress and showcase a life of success. From 2010 to 2021, the mansion belonged to the Potts family, a name well known in the off-road racing scene. Pictures and videos on their Instagram and YouTube show the mansion filled with expensive furniture and luxury cars, inside the garage and outside in the driveway. But in June of 2021, they moved on, selling the mansion for around $4.5 million to its last owners. From the beginning, their lifestyle was big. Exotic cars filled the property, and lavish parties were held night to night. But beneath the surface, things were beginning to fall apart. While nothing is fully confirmed, locals have talked about their own stories with the mansion. One claimed drug use was creeping in, and slowly destroying the marriage and business that funded it all. Another said that the wife would rent AirBnbs, move in, and leave them trashed after staying there. But things got weird when just a few years later, in 2025, a local who claimed to know the family arrived at the mansion, only to find it deserted. Clothes in the closets, power on, and everything left behind, except people. They even said they discovered a note, one that read like a suicide note, saying that “everyone who lived inside was going to die.” People have many speculations of what happened, some blaming the cartel, and others saying that they fled the country, but one thing is for certain: everyone was gone, and no one knows why. On July 10th, foreclosure became official, and it was auctioned off for just $2.87 million - less than half of its worth.
