Pokémon Emerald - Elite Four Sidney battle

This is me having my first Elite Four battle against Sidney, the Dark-type expert, in my new Pokémon Emerald walkthrough, done in April-June 2014. So, this is it. The first battle in the series of battles to conquer the Pokémon League. Up first, we have Sidney, the Dark-type specialist, so have your Fighting and/or Bug Pokémon up for the challenge. Sidney leads off with Mightyena, who likes to lower your accuracy with Sand-Attack. Also watch out for Roar. It also knows Double-Edge, which, as a recoil-causing move, can also work for your advantage. Use Bug and Fighting moves to dispose of it. Up next is Shiftry. It knows Torment, Swagger, and Double Team, so it can turn out pretty annoying. Remember, it is vulnerable to Flying- and Fire-type moves besides its usual Dark-type weaknesses. If possible, try also exploiting its 4x weakness to Bug-type moves. Cacturne also has some annoying status moves, possessing Cotton Spore to lower your Speed and Leech Seed to drain your energy. Its Needle Arm also has a chance to make you flinch, so watch out. It has the same typing as Shiftry, thus possessing the same weaknesses as well. Crawdaunt can be dangerous if not taken seriously. It has Swords Dance to boost its Attack and Facade to strike heavy damage if inflicted with a status condition. Being part Water-type, Grass and Electric attacks are good options against it. Sidney's ace, Absol, has a good type coverage. It has Swords Dance to boost its Attack, Slash as a dangerous STAB move, Aerial Ace to deal with Fighting-types, and Rock Slide to deal with Bug-types. Get rid of it with strong Fighting and Bug moves before it can destroy your team. After being defeated, Sidney allows you to enter the next room to face the next member of the Elite Four: Phoebe, the Ghost-type expert. Be sure to heal your Pokémon, and go forth! PS.
