Upon his brow gleamed the Crown of Dawn, a relic forged by the divine flame. His reign brought peace, but peace breeds envy. The priests of the Radiant Temple whispered that compassion was weakness, and the nobles hungered for more than order. Their lies reached heaven, and the gods turned their gaze from their once-favored son. When accusation came, it came wrapped in light. The holy crown burned its master, and the fire of judgment devoured his throne. Chained in gold, betrayed by faith, Arden was cast into the Abyss Below, where light cannot reach. His last words echoed through the falling dark: “If light forsakes me, I will find truth in shadow.” For a hundred years he fell. The Abyss whispered — voices of the forgotten, the exiled, the devoured. They offered him power, vengeance, remembrance. All they asked was what remained of his soul. Arden gave it willingly. From the void he rose — not as man, but as something vast and silent. Shadows obeyed him. Light recoiled from him. His heart no longer beat; his name no longer burned. Arden the Shadowborn stepped into the world once more. Eldara had decayed. Its twin suns were dim, its temples ruled by tyrants draped in false light. To the people, the gods were silent. To the priests, their faith had turned to ash. And so, when the Shadow King walked among them, cloaked in living night, the world trembled — not in fear, but in recognition. He crossed fields of bone and cities of dust. From ancient battlefields, the shades of his fallen warriors rose and knelt before him. The Spectral Legion marched again beneath banners of dusk and whisper. Their oaths echoed through the void: “Our king has returned.” When the citadel that betrayed him stood before him, its towers bathed in false radiance, Arden climbed its shattered steps. Upon the altar burned the Crown of Dawn, still aflame, still alive with divine scorn. He reached for it, and it screamed. The fire seared him, yet he did not yield. “You burned me once,” he said, voice like thunder in the hollow sky. “Now you will burn for me.” The crown shattered in his grasp. From its ruin, the light bled black, coiling into his hand. He forged it anew — a circlet of molten shadow, thorns of silver night glinting in the dark. When he placed it upon his head, the heavens shuddered, and the twin suns died. Thus was born the Crown of Shadows. The armies of faith fell silent. The divine light faltered. And upon the throne of ruin stood a king neither mortal nor divine — a monarch of equilibrium. His gaze turned upward as he spoke: “The light and the dark were never enemies. Only fools made them so.” And the gods, shamed by their creation, turned away. Eldara became a world of one sun — dim, eternal, unblinking. There, upon a throne of obsidian and memory, sat the last true king. His realm no longer needed dawn. His people no longer feared the dark. He had become what the world demanded — Arden the Shadowborn, the King of Balance, the Lord of the Crown of Shadows. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Written by: @JaneSteelfire Also Known as Deadlongs Vocals & Instrumentals: AI Suno (or Producer for Vocals and Instruments) Disclaimer:Any resemblance to real-world music, themes, or likenesses is purely coincidental and not intended to infringe upon any existing intellectual property or copyrighted material.
