Part 7:The last in our Indian series. Arga. The Baby Taj, was built before the Taj Mahal. Exquisitely decororated with hand carved inlaid semi precious stones & hand painted ceilings, a precursor marble structure with similar designs to the Taj Mahal. Walking through the ancient Arga markets that sell in bulk. Inside the Arga Fort, focusing on the magnificent palace complex & beautiful pavilion where Shah Jahan & his wife Jahangir lived for 16 years before she died. After surrendering his kingdom, Shah Jahan was imprisoned here for the last 8 years of his life, he could see in the distance where his favorite Jahangir was entombed in the Taj Mahal. This private complex was evidenced to Shah's love of marble, heavily decorated with hand carved inlaid semi precious stones. There is a large black marble table, the same material that Shah Jahah intended to build the black Taj for his own moselum from. Black marble was 3 times the price of white marble!
