Raleigh, North Carolina - On Thursday, March 12th, community leaders, advocates, and impacted families will gather for a press event during Women’s History Month to highlight the real-life consequences of recent policy decisions and funding cuts affecting Latine communities across North Carolina. The event will center the voices of Latine women—especially working mothers and caregivers—who are already experiencing the impact of healthcare cuts and harmful policy choices. Speakers will share personal stories that illustrate how these decisions affect families’ ability to access care, maintain economic stability, and live with dignity. Advocates say these cuts are not abstract budget decisions, but choices with tangible consequences for communities across the state. The event will frame the moment as both a moral and economic issue, raising questions about whether Latine families in North Carolina are being valued, supported, and protected by state leaders. The press conference aims to elevate the voices of Latine women, increase public awareness of the stakes for families, and urge state policymakers to reverse policies that harm working communities.
