Note you can instead choose to "murder" the other robot, which is obviously not human--there is a chart in this area that describes the intelligence level and whether or not a human can remotely 'pilot' these robots, the little one is the lowest intelligence and cannot be piloted thus no human can be trapped in it. But interestingly enough, most people will choose to kill the other one since it doesn't interact with the player much as you can see, and because it is not practical while the little robot helps you throughout the game (because it's a simple intelligence just abiding by its programming).
