Let's check out one of the beautiful State Parks that's located in the backyard of King County. Let's take a look at Saint Edwards State Park, which is located just 20 minutes from Seattle located in Kenmore Washington. Saint Edward State Park is a 326-acre day-use park which also is home to one of the more fabulous dining experiences and lodging available. If you make your way down towards the coast, you'll be greeted with 3,000 feet of freshwater shoreline on Lake Washington. -------------------------------------------------------- There are NUMEROUS amounts of picnic tables that are first come, first served. There is a beautifully large playground just adjacent to the Lodge, which can be great for the kids. They also have a "under 5 years old" type playground for the REALLY little ones. -------------------------------------------------------- Picnicking, hiking, soccer, mountain biking, fishing, bicycling, swimming, bird watching, softball and horse trails are offered in the Holmes Point area. Access to waterfront from the shore is by trail only. There are a couple of trailheads that have access to the waterfront. The Grotto trailhead is 0.8 mile RT hike but can be a little steep coming back up.
