How to breed betta fish and set up their breeding tank. Today we start the process of breeding our betta fish. The breeding tank is a 10 gallon filled up half way. We have our heater set at 82f and a sponge filter running on very low. The parents are a Galaxy Koi black, red and blue male and a Yellow and black marble female both are Plakat bettas. They are first time parents and at this point are doing really well. We conditioned the female before adding her into the tank. She was fed several times a day with high protein foods to help her produce eggs.
