Final Beat: • Never Wanna Grow Up I originally started recording full beatmaking sessions to make it easier to make behind the beat shorts showing how I flip stuff. A few people asked me to drop these more in depth session, especially @AwkwardRad10 , so thank you for asking because otherwise I would have probably started deleting these. Hope it's interesting to see the full process. I normally make beats over my lunchbreak at work which is a real blessing for real, this one is a pretty good one to show cause it shows how I started off tryna flip one part of the sample, then scrapped that and went for something different, which ending up clicking and then really inspired me to go crazy on the layering etc. Equipment wise I'm using Ableton with the Push 2 linked up. As a long time MPC user (I used a MPC2000 for the first 5 years I made beats), the push really captures the MPC workflow in such an insane way, I can't even describe how much quicker it is to flip samples on this, been an absolute gamechanger for me in terms of letting me make beats at work. Man huge shoutout to @hightopbeats for really putting in serious work to convince me that Push 2 was the way to go, I'd been using the MPC for so long I was worried about not using an Akai product but man I couldn't have been more wrong, Ableton Push workflow is ridiculous and weirdly exactly like an MPC just super super fast. I still use the MPC2000 to do my drums, layer them etc, which I then record through the 8 outs to EQ them a bit, out into ableton and make them into drum kits like the ones you see me loading up towards the end of the video. Those are all kits I made by sampling various breaks into the MPC, layering them up and then running through an analogue EQ. Will defo do a video on that one day. I've added timestamps to the video so hopefully they show up and will make watching this a bit easier. Peace!! Lots more of these on the way, I've been recording every beatmaking session since this one.
