In this SDT Education Consortium session (December 16, 2025), educators and researchers explore real-world, school-based applications of SDT through two short presentations and an interactive discussion focused on student motivation, well-being, and autonomy support. 🌍 Featured perspectives include: Helen Street, founder and chair of Positive Schools, who shares insights from her extensive work applying SDT to promote well-being across Australian schools. Geneviève Boisclair, research professional at Université Laval, who presents the story of École Bourg—an elementary school in Québec where students use an SDT-inspired “hot air balloon” framework to guide their autonomy-supported goals. What began in a single grade level was quickly embraced school-wide. Together, these examples illustrate how SDT principles—autonomy, competence, and relatedness—can be translated into practical, engaging, and scalable practices in K–12 education. 👉 Learn more about the SDT Education Consortium and upcoming monthly meetings: https://selfdeterminationtheory.org/t... 📺 Subscribe to the Center for Self-Determination Theory YouTube channel for additional educator-led SDT content.
