MNS 'Thuggery' On Cam: Trader Beaten, Forced To Apologise Over WhatsApp Status | India Today News

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers were filmed assaulting a trader in Mumbai's Vikhroli area. The man, who works at a medical shop, was targeted for a WhatsApp status he posted with alleged objectionable words about Marathi and Maharashtra. MNS leader Vishwajit Dholam and others forced the man to apologise and took him to a police station. So far, no police complaint has been filed by the victim. Reacting to the incident, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC called it 'political opportunism' to regain lost ground before elections. She stated that while her party supports 'Marathi asmita', taking the law into one's hands is wrong. Shaina NC said, 'Encourage people to speak Marathi...This is proactiveness, not just picking up people, hitting them...and circulating it for your own political resurrection.'
