The UT Dentistry Center for Oral Health Care & Research will open later this year after breaking ground in October 2012. The UT Dentistry Center for Oral Health Care and Research clinics will provide a new four-story 198,000-square-foot state-of-the-art location for dental patient care in the heart of San Antonio’s Medical Center. Our students’, residents’, faculty and patients’ clinical experiences will be in an environment created for multi-specialty patient care. There are 400 operatory and clinical laboratory spaces, as well as new classroom space and a student-run dental clinic. The Center for Oral Health Care & Research will allow School of Dentistry researchers to work closely with the UT Dentistry clinical practice to advance research on cutting-edge studies on pain and inflammation, salivary diagnostics, stem-cell regeneration of dental tissues, bone regeneration, dental public health and prevention and much more.
