New 2022 Sonic Game, Sonic Colors Ultimate, Sonic Origins & More - Reaction & Breakdown

Sonic Central was held today on May 27th and they revealed a lot of new Sonic The Hedgehog content coming for his 30th Anniversary & beyond. Including Sonic Colors Ultimate. The remaster will feature plenty of brand new content, like alternative clothing for Sonic to wear and a new “Rival Rush Mode”, where the player can race against Metal Sonic to unlock bonus content in the game. Sonic Colors Ultimate will be available for Steam, Epic Games Store, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game will be also playable on PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility, and the Xbox series of consoles. Sonic Colours: Ultimate is being developed by Blind Squirrel Entertainment, a development team known for their previous AAA remasters, among them being Bioshock: The Collection, Borderlands: Game of the Year Enhanced Edition, and Mass Effect Legendary Edition. A new Sonic the Hedgehog collection has been announced. The collection will feature Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. It’ll be named “Sonic Origins”, with a planned release for the next year, 2022. As we suspected, SEGA took the time at the very end of the Sonic Central live stream to tease the very next mainline title in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The teaser trailer was incredibly short and did not share many details, but we do know that the unrecognizable Sonic footage in the official ‘Unstoppable’ fan trailer did end up being from this very trailer. Sonic is seen dashing through a forest, with a strange slipstream appearing behind him. Shortly afterward, the above glyph appears, followed by the release date of 2022.
