Welcome to The Ghosts of Dartmoor, Devon #dartmoor #ghosts #haunted #devon (Please note that some images are for illustration; there are brief mentions of infant mortality in this video) Today, we are going to explore the ghosts of Dartmoor, a wild and rugged location, renowned for its granite tors, hiking, wildlife, and the supernatural. The tin industry made Dartmoor a wealthy place and we have ghosts connected to affluent families, murder, two locations of incarceration, a castle, and a number of pubs. Dartmoor is a place of mystery, beauty, and danger. But there’s more: who haunts the church at Chagford and why? Is it true that a ghost from the Civil War lingers in a Dartmoor village inn? Who haunts the magnificent stone circle at Scorhill? And why is Dartmoor Prison so haunted? (Incidentally, Kitty’s Steps at Lydford are on private land, sadly) Stay tuned for the Post Script, from me, Nicola, where we will delve into some more stories of hauntings and tales from Dartmoor. I will even share a somewhat embarrassing and strange story from my visit to Princetown for my birthday many years ago now. I can still remember it to this day!
