Transcript: Atrocity Propaganda: What is Atrocity Propaganda? Is the spreading of information that is often fabrications or downright exaggerations. Usually involving "evidence" such as photographs, videos, illustrations, interviews and so on and so forth. Why is it made? (Purpose) Made to elicit strong emotions from viewers, it is mainly used by national governments especially by liberal democracies to garner support for war directed especially at external enemies but is also not limited to that as it can be directed to internal enemies. How can we fight it? Set up a group of independent journalist to debunk such misinformation, however it should be noted that this is a strategy that can only effectively be implemented by the government. Debunk the source: Follow the money, then establish any correlations, find out if it is reputable. Who is making the allegations? Question that source and establish their motive, this mostly works well with an informed public. Use social media to spread the truth (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) can be used just to name a few. Is it worth fighting it? That is entirely up to you, however it is worth noting that such stories die down in a few years before another such story comes out in order to take the media spotlight. It is also worth noting that fighting against the allegations made by Atrocity Propaganda is also dependent on the adversary it is made against, are these nations capable of defending themselves? What are the consequences of letting it be? A high likelihood of war, boycotts and sanctions which actually affect the civilians of said nations, it is designed for that and is therefore an act of war, it results in isolation, dehumanisation, racist attacks on diaspora which can lead to mental issues and a rise in suicides.
