This demo is an original composition using 35 preset patches in under 4 minutes. All synths and fx you're hearing are generated by the CA2600 (this doesn't include eq, dynamics, or panning). Kikck, hh, and snare / clap were added using Roland's TR-707 plug-in. Spec rundown: -3 VCO's, each with triangle, saw, sine, and square waveforms, as well as PWM, and FM control -Oscillator 1 includes a sub square, while VCO 2 & 3 are syncable -1 noise source with white, pink, low freq, and separate ring-mod with inputs for VCO 1 & 2 -1 'vintage-correct' filter with lp, hp, and bp at 12db and 24db slopes -1 envelope, 1 A/R envelope generator, and 1 syncable lfo w/ 6 waveforms -CV controllable distortion, reverb, and syncable delay -'next-gen' patch panel cabling system from voltage modular with unlimited mults per jack The CA2600 is a duophonic soft synth meticulously modeled after the Arp 2600. The original was released in 1971, and was the successor to Arp's first synthesizer, the 2500. Less than 3,000 were made in a 10 year span, and it was the synthesizer famously used to voice R2-D2. It can be heard on many popular songs by artists like Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and The Who, while also appearing on tracks like Michael Jackson's Thriller, and Madonna's Borderline. format and compatibility: AU VST VST3 AAX stand alone -MacOS 10.13 or above with native Apple M1 or greater supported -Windows 7 or above (including Windows 11) -64 bit required -online activation only While using the AU plugin in Ableton 11, it maintained stable and low latency operation 100% of the time. External MIDI control and automation worked reliably and without fault. Subjectively speaking, this is the most creative collection of presets I've seen in a 2600 emulation. I was especially impressed with how well it pulled off natural acoustic character with certain percussion and brass patches. Cherry Audio was formed in 2018 by a group of industry veterans, boasting decades of experience programming audio and DSP software. It's likely that experience is what helps the CA2600 stand out from other emulations. While the company started off with their own modular synth VST called Voltage Modular, they've since carved out a place in the market for affordable software based off of vintage analog synths. You can download a demo version of the CA2600 which works with a 30 day free trial here: https://cherryaudio.com/products/ca2600 The CA2600 lists at $39, but is often on sale for as low as $25 This content is unpaid and unsponsored.
