Tucked away in the hills of Mineral County, Nevada, this abandoned mine stands as a fading relic of a long-gone silver rush. Once, it featured a 650-foot shaft with levels every 100 feet and a 130-foot winze below. However, the original workings have since collapsed, leaving only a single open tunnel and one standing building as reminders of its former glory. In this video, I explore the last accessible tunnel and examine the geology-rich quartzite veins. I also walk through the weathered remains of the only building still standing. While the original shaft from the 1920s is no longer accessible, a newer shaft, dug below the old workings, remains unexplored—for now. This site once produced silver, gold, lead, copper, and zinc, with ore minerals such as chrysocolla, cerargyrite, malachite, and native silver embedded in oxidized quartz. Between 1922 and 1940, the mine was valued at nearly three-quarters of a million dollars—a significant fortune at the time. Join me on this atmospheric point-of-view journey into one of Nevada's hidden mining stories.
