I Made The FULL ON Switch To Ahead Drumsticks. So for the longest time and I’m sure with every drummer out there, I’ve been using wooden drumsticks. I was hesitant to go full on Ahead so I was switching between wooden and Ahead drumsticks. I finally made the switch to Ahead Drumsticks full time and I couldn’t be happier. No disrespect to my longtime go to wooden drumstick company. The current models I’m using are the Hybrid Studio 5AB which is a best of both worlds 5A/5B stick. It has a 5B style grip which I like, and tapers to a 5A style stick after the handle part. It is the perfect drumstick for all around drumming. You can finesse it if you need it to, or you can really lay down some solid and heavy grooves with it. That stick is probably THE ONE!! Some other models I’ve been using are the Fatbeat 5A, a few of the Lars Ulrich models for heavy hitting, and I still have the 5A’s, and Speed Metal models from years ago. I’m slowly growing my Ahead Drumsticks collection and now I have an Ahead Drumstick bag for it all. Some of the next Ahead Drumsticks I’d like to check out are the Phil Rudd or the Rikki Rockett models. The great thing about Ahead Drumsticks is that is that they rarely break and they last years and years. I don’t have hand fatigue anymore and it’s great for proper playing technique.
