The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with. Dig Dug is a 1992 port of the 1982 arcade game of the same name. Like a lot of arcade ports of the time, it's.... Dig Dug! I always ranked this one a bit below some of the all-time arcade classics, but it's still a solid game. As a bonus, they include 'New Dig Dug', which adds a few extra wrinkles to the classic. Solid, if unspectacular port here. NEXT! Pyramids of Ra, released in 1993 by Matchbox, is one of the more unique (and complicated) puzzle games I've seen on the system. I full recognize that we spent all of 7 or so minutes with the game, and we skipped to the very last available level, but this one can get really complicated! It's a mixture of Q-Bert and Marble Madness, and I feel Pyramids of Ra would've been a bit more of a popular release if it came out a year or two earlier. Not that 1993 was super late for the Game Boy, but by the time it released, the Game Boy was flooded with puzzle games. Definitely recommend this one for you puzzle fans, and thanks for watching!
