However, Palpatine has little interest in stopping pain and is tempted to execute the doctors right then and there. Instead, he forces himself to remain calm and lets them work as he departs to his chambers. Once alone, he begins to close his eyes and meditate, focusing on channelling the Force to project his image and find someone who can get the job done. Soon, he finds himself opening his eyes to a secret lab where a figure is hunched over a table, studying the documents in his hand, completely unaware of Palpatine’s presence until the emperor clears his throat. Dr. Gero adjusts his glasses, his aged face marked with sharp lines that become more prominent as he smirks at the emperor. Gero: Ahhh, Palpatine. To what do I owe the pleasure? His gauntlets crackle with stolen energy, absorbing and repurposing the Force itself. Palpatine watches with satisfaction. From the shadows, Gero suppresses a smirk.
