A visit to Takayama’s “Hida no Sato” the traditional folk village, incl BONUS winter illuminations!

Takayama in the Gifu Prefecture, located in central Japan has a lot to offer, and the “Hida no Sato” is one of those things! This open-air museum, consisting of around 30 houses that were relocated from all over the Gifu prefecture, including the famous UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE Shirakawa-go is a great way to spend an afternoon. With many of the houses exhibiting local craft items from the Edo period it is super educational and a great way of learning about Japanese culture.
