The Karnataka government has taken strict action in the shocking “Royal Treatment” case from Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru. After videos of inmates — including rapists and terror convicts — enjoying luxury treatment inside the jail went viral, the Home Department has cracked down hard on officials involved. Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara officially announced that Superintendent Mageri and Assistant Superintendent Bhajantri have been suspended, while Chief Superintendent Suresh has been transferred. A high-power investigation committee headed by ADGP Hithendra has been formed to probe the misuse of power and corruption inside the prison. The team has been directed to submit a full report within a month.
